Continuation of our Castles project and a contribution to our Monarchy project : I created a learning pack to demonstrate what happened when castles became about demonstrating political power and wealth rather than being about defensive ability. Tattershall also happens to be one of our first castles built completely out of brick. A nice way to round up the Plantagenet element of our Kings and Queens of Britain monarchy timeline.
We found the oldest piece of graffiti in Tattershall, as observed by the historian James Wright - an expert on Tattershall castle.
