Laid more wood chipping and put down more manure piles for second half of the bay for more quash  planting.

Squashes should be ideally planted in relatively cool and mild weather with little to no wind but will adapt to the environment by growing stronger leaves [dead leaves do not need to be removed].

Tomatoes and cucumbers were attached to a string. Do not tie the string to the plants unless you have to grow them up sticks, instead just wrap the string around the main stem of the plant, this also helps to keep the plant growing straight.

About this time of year you must cut the top off of the broad beans to discourage black fly. If you notice lots of ants crawling on your plants or lots of ladybirds on your crop, you probably have a black fly or avid problem and will need to assess your plants. Ladybirds will eat black fly for you

When onions are ready to be pulled their long stalks will fall over. Do not pull out of the ground - instead gently ease out with a trowel. Leave them on the ground to dry for a couple of days before storing to give them time to create an outer skin and reduce their moisture content. If you notice white mould at the bottom of your onions then you must eat these first. If onions have grown in the ground with white mould then you cannot plant next seasons onion into the same soil for approx 3-4 years or they will continue to develop white mould and you may lose your entire crop.

Reapplied woodchip paths and created manure piles in alternating sides of two lines to plant squashes later on.

Cleared cabbage plot. Removed weeds alongside dead cabbage leaves and checked for aphids [clumps of little blue-ish things on the underside of leaves] and collected it for compost.
